Meet the Candidate – Lynn Rogers (Senate Dist. 25)

Lynn Rogers is a common sense, Kansan running for the state Senate because he wants to find solutions to our problems and take full advantage of the opportunities facing our state.  Lynn has a passion for education. He has served on the Wichita Board of Education for the past 15 years, and he stepped up for the children and parents in Wichita by serving either as president or vice-president of the board for 7 of those years.

Meet The Candidate – Gabriel Costilla (Senate Dist. 16)

Gabriel Costilla was born in TX to a life of poverty and strife. He went through many rough times, but with the help of family, friends, and the most resilient mother a son could ask for, Gabriel was able to climb out from the grips of poverty. As a young boy, Gabriel knew he’d go to college. He didn’t know how he would pay for it, but he knew (because his mother never let him doubt it) that he would go no matter how difficult the journey.  He graduated from Texas Tech in 2011 and went on to get his certification to be a high school English teacher. Gabriel currently teaches at Wichita West High School, so that he can help disadvantaged youth like himself. Gabriel knows all too well the burden that Kansas Legislators have put on hard working people and children across this state. Gabriel didn’t plan on running for office, but when asked if he would run, he knew that he had to rise to the challenge.
